About
Hi!
I’m Natalie Kasling. I’m an Austin, Texas native, but I consider myself more of an explorer of the world. I’ve been to over 36 countries, and continue to seek out more. I grew up wanting and hoping to make a difference in the world and I’m still trying to do so.
I was 8 years old when I was diagnosed with dyslexia. I was told that my brain saw the world differently and it was up to me to make it make sense. When I was 9 years old, my teacher told me that my brain “was broken.” A broken brain? What does that even mean? I’m still figuring that out, but in the meantime I decided to put my broken brain to use and work to create videos that made me laugh, cry and think.
Being dyslexic challenged me academically and creatively. While I majored in secondary education in college because I loved working with children, I quickly learned that I wanted to pursue a career that would provide me with a creative outlet. In college, I always put together travel videos for my friends following vacations and events. During my post-graduation trip over seas, my friend and I recorded our experience daily. Once we were home we created a video of our travels, which was the most time and energy I’d put toward a video. That was when I realized I loved editing and quickly landed a job in New York City as an assistant editor at Cut & Run. Since then, I’ve worked along side brilliant editors, directors, and producers and for high-profile clients.
Three things I love most in life? Dogs, traveling and hot sauce (not biased, but Cholula).
